The Challenge

Founded in the early 2000s, Trade Kitchens and Baths (TKB) specialises in the design and supply of high-quality kitchens. For more than 20 years, they’ve been helping customers transform their homes by offering an end-to-end service from the design to the last touches.

Despite the company’s robust performance, its dated payment system presented the team with significant challenges in day-to-day operations. Joel Schreiber Company Director at TKB began looking for ways to improve the company’s payment systems.

With only one card terminal, it meant two different customers couldn’t pay at the same time. If one customer was paying in-store, another paying over the phone would have to be put on hold until the in-store transaction was complete.

Furthermore, customers did not receive email receipts and had to use their mobile banking transaction confirmation instead. This all led to an overall less-than-ideal customer experience.

The Solution

After speaking with Blink Payment’s sales team, Joel Schreiber, Company Director went ahead with our platform, enabling TKB to send customers payment links to complete their purchases. The goals were to improve convenience and flexibility, by offering payment links. For the sales team, it gave the ability to finally take multiple payments at the same time, whether on the phone, online, or in-store.

TKB immediately benefitted from a more streamlined, user-friendly process and increased customer satisfaction.  Payment links enhanced convenience for existing customers making payments online at any suitable time. The secure nature of this method helped build trust with new customers, as they don’t have to give their card details over the phone.

The team at TKB specifically highlighted the seamless transition from sales to onboarding and finally dealing with the client services team. They were also impressed with the platform itself and its ability to simplify daily operations. And if a question arose, the support was excellent: “It seems whenever I am on the phone or send an e-mail to the support team, they are always able to assist.” -  Melvyn Fernandes, Inventory and Credit Control Manager at TKB

Eventually, Blink Payment’s winning combination of a competitive price, excellent product offering and outstanding customer service was what drew the TKB team to the platform:

“When we entered the market looking for a new payment solution provider, we looked for a few things: price, value and support.”

The Outcome

TKB has seen a huge improvement across the board, from their internal processes to higher customer satisfaction levels. Using the Blink Payment platform instead of a card terminal means they now have an all-in-one payment portal, yet they can still have multiple users.

TKB also noticed a reduction in operational expenses. For the same monthly cost of one card terminal, the team benefited from the platform, processing multiple transactions simultaneously.

What appeals to TKB is Blink Payment’s commitment to constant innovation and improvement, with tokenisation being the latest example. The ability to re-run transactions without storing card details gives the company ultimate peace of mind from a security perspective while also being convenient and cost-effective.

“Quick, innovative, and easy is something great about Blink Payment, but the security that we have in place not only makes it simple for ourselves but for the customer as well” – Melvyn Fernandes, Inventory and Credit Control Manager at TKB.
